Schools & Education & Language courses
As a family raising children in another country, one of the main topics parents have questions about is about is education. How does the local school system work? Is international education available? Which schools are best for my child? The Expat Family Market features multiple International Schools, a Dutch education expert for international families, language classes for adults & children, as well as offer additional information about the Dutch school system on our sister-site Amsterdam Families.

Taalhuis Amsterdam is a house for languages in the heart of Amsterdam, where you can learn Dutch, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Farsi, Arabic, Turkish, Hebrew, French, Latin and English from dedicated native speakers from all corners of the Mediterranean Sea (and the Netherlands of course!)
You can find language courses for many different levels, but also cultural courses, various events and trips to practice the language you're learning outside the classroom. Currently all our lessons are taught online.
Our school is happy to welcome students from all over the world each year. That is also why our website is in English. But of course you can always ask your questions in any of the Taalhuis languages!
Our staff helps us to fulfil our mission as a school and our pupils go on to achieve their goals. Our highly skilled, qualified staff work with our pupils to ensure their programme is right for them. We are able to do this because of our small class sizes and flexibility within our school structure. Our school inspires openness, trust and mutual respect. We know that a challenging education requires a supportive, nurturing and caring environment as well as a blend of skills and a mind-set that embraces diversity and difference.
To achieve this, we:
Offer a personalised, flexible and individual learning experience full of opportunities and a large range of extra curricular activities, such as, trips, international expeditions and sport tours.
Work with pupils as individuals to ensure their programme is right for them.
Know and support each pupil. We know that a challenging education requires a supportive, caring environment.
For us, education is not just about achievement at school, it is about making a difference. Every member of our school has a belief that we can all make a difference. We will all play a part.
